Solar Stewardship Initiative Unveils Traceability Standard at Sustainable Solar Europe 2024

The Solar Stewardship Initiative (SSI) is set to make waves at the upcoming Sustainable Solar Event, 12 December 2024 in Brussels. As a leading advocate for responsible solar practices, the SSI will officially launch its new Supply Chain Traceability Standard during the event.

A Milestone Achievement

Developed over the course of 2024 by a dedicated working group of experts, the Traceability Standard aims to enhance transparency and accountability across solar supply chains. Rigorous pilot testing and a public consultation have ensured its robustness and effectiveness.

What Is the Traceability Standard?

The Traceability Standard provides a comprehensive framework for tracking solar products from raw materials to end-user installations, establishing a Chain of Custody of materials in a product’s supply chain. By promoting traceability, the SSI aims to address critical issues such as ethical sourcing, environmental impact, and quality assurance.
